Road trip to Leeds :)

Today me and my friend Lucy went to Leeds for a day trip, we went to the University of Leeds and The Leeds College of Art and Design degree shows!

I found both of them amazing, I loved both show I just had one pointer that the University of Leeds could have been more signed posted as we were walking around quite a lot around the building we needed to be in!!

Here is some work that I liked...

Our degree show...

All this week and last week has been my degree show, I have displayed my finals 6 scarves in the space that I was allocated. Every bodice is at a different height and width; I had designed it this way as I didn't want to just have them in rows and columns. The design I have placed them in has worked as there are some that make other pop out of the wall. This is my final degree show…

There's my name... more than once! :)

Here are some close ups…

These are made out off 100% Wool

These two are made from 100% Cotton.

These are 100% Silk.

Final Prints!

After a long time of design and changing layouts, colour and images and I have final created my 6 finals scarves! Woohaa! These are:

I’m very proud on how they have turned out; the colours are really good and very bright. I think they look good as a collection too. This is a sneaky preview for the first two wool printed…

Development

I have started my development in this project, I have done this by added my images in to Illustrator and started to play around. Here are some examples:

I have used different layers, colours, images to create different patterns, looks, and feels of the scarfs. I tried to use a lot of my drawing to keep them interesting but not make them too busy. I was also aiming for my scarf’s to just look like a random pattern not like fruit printed on to fabric. I wanted it to be like that so then when people got close up to them they would work out that it is fruit and that it’s interesting.

Drawings...

As I promised here are some examples of my drawings from my latest project. I started by printing with cut fruit to experiment with different patterns. My aim was to have a collection of different patterns which the fruit created to transform them in to illustrations. During this project I have been learning about Photoshop and Illustrator, there have been many ups and downs to learning this computer based program. I have fully enjoyed it, the only point that I have really learnt about is to draw line drawings in Illustrator so then later you can edit them as you can not do in Photoshop.

Stamping with strawberry's.

Stamps with have an orange's.

Drawing the pattern from a stamped Strawberry.

Lime and Lemon page... Drawing and stamps.

Oranges, collage, drawings and stamps.

Line drawing on Photoshop

Tracing orange stamps through Illustrator and using the cloning stamp on Photoshop.

Using different tools, Brush Strokes, Filling line images in, changing the colour of lines.

Next on my blog, development :)
Thanks. x
